Katie is unwavering in pursuing her passions, particularly in sportfishing and chasing IGFA women's world records.
Katie has consistently led the Billfish Foundation competition for ten consecutive months, both among men and women, for the highest number of tagged and released Billfish. Her specific focus on tagged striped marlin has positioned her as a formidable contender for the title of top female angler this year. In 2018, she achieved a remarkable feat by securing top angler of the year in three categories, surpassing all competitors in the world, irrespective of gender, for the most tagged and released billfish. Katie finds joy in fishing experiences, whether it's on a humble panga, her former vessel, the 48 Viking, or her current vessel, the 65 American custom named Kona. Her exceptional achievements aboard the Kona have earned her three world records and recognition by IGFA as one of the top anglers of 2020.
While her professional endeavors hold a significant place in her life, Katie finds balance by cherishing time spent with her two children, 9-year-old son Brady and daughter Dylan. Katie actively collaborates with Sherman in organizing youth camps, working diligently to positively impact the lives of young athletes. By fostering a strong and empowering mindset both on and off the field, Katie aims to inspire these young individuals to realize their untapped potential.
